Optimization on the multi-period empty container repositioning problem in regional port cluster based upon inventory control strategies

Within the area of regional port clusters, this paper establishes a multi-period mixed integer programming model to optimize empty container repositioning between public hinterlands and ports, comprehensively considering quantitative periodic inventory control strategy. At same time, dynamically heuristically determines threshold (D, U) under strategy S periodical at each within clusters. On basis, schemes ports are optimized by using Markov decision process combined with dynamic method. In addition, Liaoning coastal cluster its northeast hinterland selected as objects solve results show that total cost shipping company can be saved 14.16% 11.92%, respectively, Selecting quantity terminals, demand terminals containers other factors, carries on sensitivity analysis. This validates weaken in influence external environment changes. And reduce value greater extent more effective than
